S3 implements and supports collaborative business solutions for our partner credit unions in the areas of Deposit Operations, Real Estate Lending, Consumer Lending, Collections, and Call Center Operations. Our Leadership Team
Chief Executive Officer
Mike Scully joined S3 as Chief Operation Officer in 2012 and was named Chief Executive Officer in 2015. Prior to S3, Mike was Executive Vice President at American Bank. His previous experience includes executive roles with Tenacity Group and Wells Fargo Financial. Mike has over twenty years of experience in Financial Services and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Loyola College.
Director, Member Experience
Joe Borkowicz joined S3 in 2015 as Director, Contact Center. His previous experience includes management roles with Medifast, Ascend One, Provident Bank and NationsBank/Maryland National Bank. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University.
Director, Deposit Operations
Crystal Carey joined S3 in 2012 as Director, Deposit Operations. Her previous experience includes management roles with Tower Federal Credit Union, Federal Reserve Bank and Crestar Operations. Crystal attended UMBC earning a B.A. in Psychology and Towson University receiving a M.S. in Human Resource Development. Crystal holds professional certifications in National Check and DDI.
Kimberly Edsall joined S3 as Manager, Compliance in 2012 and was named Director, Compliance in 2016. Her previous experience includes roles with American Bank and UBS Financial. Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Adelphi University.
Director, Consumer Lending
April Harriman, joined S3 January, 2014 as the Senior Manager for Consumer Lending and transitioned into her current role as Director in October 2014. Her expertise includes 15 years of Credit Union experience; including front line and management roles with Bellco Credit Union and Gunnison Western Federal Credit Union. April attained a professional certification with DDI and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a Communications Minor from Western State Colorado University.
Director, Home Equity Lending
Elizabeth McDonold joined S3 in 2013 as manager and was promoted to Director in 2016. Liz’s experience also includes loan processing and underwriting. Liz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Maryland, College Park and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Director, First Mortgage Lending
Heather Purvis joined S3 in 2014 as Director, First Mortgage Lending. Heather has more than 23 years’ experience in mortgage lending; her previous experience includes the roles of Vice President, Mortgage Operations at American Bank and Mortgage Operations Manager with Tenacity Mortgage.
Director, Human Resources
Cassandra Wallace joined S3 in 2016 as Director, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. Her previous experience includes human resource management roles with American Bank and Tenacity Group. Cassandra earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from University of Maryland.
Tina McGinnis joined S3 in 2012 as Executive Assistant, added the role of Office Manager in December 2013, and was then named Manager, Administration in December 2014. Her previous experience includes roles with Procter & Gamble and Kirschner Medical Corporation in both executive administration and corporate legal. Tina received a business diploma from The Stratford Schools.
Director, Default Management and Real Estate Servicing
Ted Fleming joined S3 in 2018 as Director, Default Management and Real Estate Servicing. Ted has more than 20 years’ financial services experience and has held previous leadership roles in lending, credit, and asset management for Maryland National Bank and Nations Bank. Before joining S3, Ted held the position of Senior Vice President and SCRA Compliance Officer at Sandy Spring National Bank.

Project Management Office
Kevin Shannon joined S3 in 2014 as PMO Manager. Kevin has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including stints as President of Bank of America Home Lending and Enterprise Credit Risk Management Executive. He has managed dozens of consumer and first mortgage lending centers. Kevin earned his BSBA in Marketing and MBA from East Carolina University.
Sr. Project Manager
Becky Cruz has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry of which more than 20 years’ experience in the areas of Business Process Re-engineering, Standardization, Program and Project Management. She is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, and Agile project methodologies. Becky earned an Executive MBA from Loyola University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame University in Maryland.
Sr. Project Manager
Annette Ferrell joined S3 in 2015 and is an experienced banker with more than 30 years in the financial services industry. Her experience spans retail and business banking, operations, and contact center. Annette’s career includes leadership positions with Allfirst, M&T and Capital One banks. Annette attended University of Maryland and is an honors graduate of Stonier School of Banking. A certified PMP since 2007, Annette is a practitioner of Lean Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement and is experienced in Waterfall and Agile project management.
